Historical Village & Welcome Center Programs

The spring school program* is an annual activity in the historical village.  For eight to 10 days each spring, approximately 1200 second thru fifth grade students, teachers, and chaperones from throughout southwest Iowa and eastern Nebraska spend a half a day at village participating in demonstrations including rope making, butter churning, early farming, laundry, one-room school, spinning, and early trapping. For additional information on the spring school program, please contact Kathy Dirks at 712-642-2114.

*The historical village may be closed to the general public during spring school programs.  Please call 712-642-2114 in advance if you plan to visit during the last week of April or the first few weeks of May to determine dates and hours of operation.
